Ex Rut Rider

10 riders participated in Exercise Rut Rider on 23 Jan 10.  The ride started in Tidworth and travelled east along the Wayfarer Walk (byway) to just beyond the A34 (60km round trip and almost all off road), and true to form it was water filled ruts virtually all the way.  Although the recent snow had almost all gone, the tracks were thick with tread filling mud and the going was tricky in places with a few minor spills being shared amongst the group.  The highlights of the day (after the riding) were Caroline's flapjacks and the cooking competition that was a total sucess with some amazing roadside culinary delights from prawns and rice,to pasta,fresh chicken and 'ROYALS' dehydrated Arctic rations.  Many thanks to all who took part and we look forward to seeing you again the next event; Ex Winter Wander.
